R L Burns completed the expansion of the Duty Free Retail store on Airside 1 at Orlando International Airport. The footprint of the existing store was expanded approximately 3,300 Sqft into an adjacent holdroom area. The scope of work included: interior demolition, core drilling, metal framing and drywall, wall blocking, metal column covers, painting, rough carpentry, installation high impact wall panels, wood paneling, operable partitions, doors & Hardware, solid surface counters, flooring (ceramic & porcelain), acoustical insulation, installation of owner furnished equipment and furniture, installation of millwork, electrical, mechanical and fire protection. The store remained in operation during expansion which required complex phasing throughout the project. Further, the expansion involved installation of millwork and displays for the shops multiple co-tenants which required additional coordination and attention to detail.
